• English: On 13 August 2026, the Indian Sugar & Bio-Energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) and ICAR-Indian Sugarcane Research Institute (ICAR-ISRI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for establishment of an Advanced Center for Quality Sugarcane Seed Production. The center will be set up at ICAR-ISRI campus, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and will cater to the sugar mills of the sub-tropical region.

4. Union Government notifies 40 questions for Population Enumeration phase of Census 2027 (Current Affairs 14 August 2026)

• English: New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Union Government of India notified 40 questions on August 14, 2026 for the Population Enumeration phase of Census 2027. The Household Schedule contains demographic, educational and socio-economic particulars. It also seeks identification details such as national identity details, voter ID, driving licence and passport number, where applicable.

5. Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express rebranded as Sprite Tejas Express (Current Affairs 14 August 2026)

• मराठी: लखनऊ-दिल्ली तेजस एक्सप्रेस (गाडी क्रमांक 82501 आणि 82502) ही व्यावसायिक ब्रँडिंग करारांतर्गत ‘स्प्राइट तेजस एक्सप्रेस’ (Sprite Tejas Express) म्हणून चालवली जाईल. या गाडीचे ब्रँडिंग आणि सेवा व्यवस्थापन ‘इंडियन रेल्वे केटरिंग अँड टुरिझम कॉर्पोरेशन’ (IRCTC) द्वारे केले जाते; मात्र, रेल्वेच्या पायाभूत सुविधांची मालकी ‘भारतीय रेल्वे’कडे आहे आणि ती यासाठी नेहमीचे ‘हॉलिंग चार्जेस’ (गाडी ओढण्याचे शुल्क) आकारते.
• English: The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express, train numbers 82501 and 82502, will run as the Sprite Tejas Express under a commercial branding arrangement. The branding and service of the train is handled by the Indian Railroad Catering and Tourism Corporation. However, the railroad infrastructure is owned by Indian Railroads, which charges normal hauling charges.

6. Union Agriculture Minister approves ₹605.71 crore for Rajasthan and Telangana (Current Affairs 14 August 2026)
