1. India launches world’s first once-weekly basal insulin ‘Awiqli’ (Current Affairs 9 July 2026)

  • मराठी: ९ जुलै २०२६ रोजी भारताने ‘अविकली’ (Awiqli) हे जगातील पहिले आठवड्यातून एकदा घ्यायचे ‘बेसल इन्सुलिन’ (basal insulin) बाजारात आणले. ‘नोव्हो नॉर्डिस्क’ (Novo Nordisk) द्वारे विकले जाणारे हे औषध भारतातील टाईप १ आणि टाईप २ मधुमेहाच्या प्रौढ रुग्णांसाठी मंजूर करण्यात आले आहे.
  • English: India launched Awiqli, the world’s first once-weekly basal insulin on July 9, 2026. Sold by Novo Nordisk, the drug contains insulin icodec and is approved for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in adults.

2. DRDO successfully tests Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (Current Affairs 9 July 2026)

  • मराठी: संरक्षण संशोधन आणि विकास संस्थेने (DRDO) ८ जुलै २०२६ रोजी ओडिशामधील चांदीपूर येथील ‘ITR’ वरून ‘पिनाका लाँग रेंज गाइडेड रॉकेट’ची (LRGR) उड्डाण चाचणी यशस्वीपणे पार पाडली. या रॉकेटची चाचणी ६० किमीच्या किमान पल्ल्यासाठी करण्यात आली.
  • English: The DRDO conducted a flight test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR) from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha. It was tested for a strike range of 60 km and completed all planned manoeuvres.

3. Gujarat launches its first Data Centre Policy 2026-29 (Current Affairs 9 July 2026)

  • मराठी: गुजरातने ९ जुलै २०२६ रोजी गांधीनगर येथे आपले पहिले ‘डेटा सेंटर धोरण २०२६-२९’ जाहीर केले. या धोरणाचे प्रमुख उद्दिष्ट ६ लाख कोटी रुपयांची गुंतवणूक आणि ७.५ गिगावॅट (GW) डेटा सेंटर क्षमता निर्माण करणे हे आहे, ज्यात एआय (AI) युक्त डिजिटल सेवांचाही समावेश आहे.
  • English: Gujarat launched its first Data Centre Policy 2026-29 on 9 July 2026. The policy aims at ₹6 lakh crore investment and 7.5 GW data centre capacity, including hyperscale data centres, cloud infrastructure, and AI-enabled digital services.

  • English: ISRO conducted the Integrated Main Parachute Airdrop Test-05 (IMAT-05) for the Gaganyaan Mission at Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, involving a dummy mass with a simulated main parachute assembly.

5. Govt waives basic customs duty on key electronics manufacturing inputs (Current Affairs 9 July 2026)

  • मराठी: भारत सरकारने ९ जुलै २०२६ रोजी डिस्प्ले असेंब्ली, लिथियम-आयन सेल आणि इंडक्टर कॉइल मॉड्यूल्सच्या निर्मितीमध्ये वापरल्या जाणाऱ्या वस्तूंवरील मूलभूत सीमाशुल्क माफ केले आहे. ही सूट ३१ मार्च २०२९ पर्यंत वैध राहील.
